Event Description

Interactive Crop Scouting Clinic provided for new and experienced agriculturalists on May 15

The Kentucky Agriculture Training School (KATS) is offering an interactive crop scouting clinic at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center on Thursday, May 15. According to coordinator Lori Rogers, the program will be beneficial for producers and scouts of all experience levels.

“This hands-on workshop is ideal for agriculture interns, new ag agents and producers, and it can serve as a refresher for others as the growing season is getting started,” Rogers said.

From 8:30 am to 3:30 pm CT, participants will learn to scout for corn and soybean diseases and insects and identify corn and soybean growth stages and weeds. Soil nutrients and their influence on crop growth will also be showcased.

Educational credits have been approved for certified crop advisors and pesticide applicators:

  • CCA - 6.5 CEUs
  • Pesticide - 5 CEUs for Category 1A, 1 CEU for Category 10

The clinic will be held at 1205 Hopkinsville Street, Princeton, Kentucky. Participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor fieldwork. Lunch will be provided.

Pre-registration is required and will be open until May 13. The cost is $105. Visit https://2025KATSCropScoutingClinic.eventbrite.com for the registration link or contact Lori Rogers, lori.rogers@uky.edu, 270-365-7541 ext. 21317.
